And you thought you knew everything there was to know about Adsense? Well I didn’t. Check this out. Google has a tip on how to emphasize content and sections of your content around which you can build the relevancy of the Adsense advertisements. The point it, if the advertisements on your site are closely related to your content there are higher chances of visitors interacting with the ads. This results in a good return for the advertiser, Google and you. Here’s how you do it.
- Highlight Content: You can highlight the start of your content with the tag
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->
and end it with<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
. - Ignore Content: You sure will have content that is irrelevant and would like to ignore. For example most of the content in the sidebar consists of widgets and other things. To have Adsense ignore the keywords in that content you can tag the start of that section with
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->
and end it as above with<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
.
Sidenote: <!--
is the start of HTML comment and -->
is the end of HTML comment. Any thing in between these comments is not displayed on the website.
