How To Escape Shortcodes And Square Brackets In WordPress

Well I thought this was a dud. Just put ’em in html entities! Didn’t work. And then I tried putting them in single quotes and <code>code</code> tags and nothing worked.

And then I found this: Trac Ticket 6518. Seems like I wasn’t the only one having this problem. Finally it was checked into WordPress code in changeset 10576.

So how do you actually do that? Well, instead of single square bracket you’d use two square brackets like [[escaped]]

But the issues is that problems don’t end just there. As you can see in this post, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to embed links from the WordPress trac?
